It’s all about acting quickly if a child is taken by a parent

 

Where a child is abducted by one of their parents, it is important that specialist family law advice is obtained so, if necessary, it can be brought to the Courts immediate attention.

A parent is able to file an urgent application for the recovery of their child or children where the other parent refuses to return or relocates without the others consent.

We have acted for clients and filed urgent recovery applications in Court to secure the return of their children. If you are concerned that the absconding parent may try to leave Australia, it is essential to act quickly.

If there is a genuine concern that a parent may abscond with a child overseas, we are able to alert the Australian Federal Police and seek Orders to place children on the Watch List. This will empower the Police to stop your children leaving Australia if any adult is attempting to flee the country.
