Separation is stressful, but not being a biological parent doesn’t mean you can’t continue a relationship with your children.

Quite often people re-partner and blend their families. It's a common feature of the modern family.

The Court focuses on the rights of the child to have a meaningful relationship with not only their biological parents but other significant people such as grandparents and step parents.

It is also not necessary to request that a child lives with you. We have acted and advised clients who are classified as significant people in a child's life and secured them time with children during school holidays, weekends and mid-week. We have also secured some client's the ability to have telephone time and to attend functions such as school assemblies and extra curricular activities so that they are able to continue to be part of a child’s life.

The nature of any parenting proposal or arrangement considers the bests interests of a particular child. We therefore obtain information about your specific circumstances and provide you with specialist advice tailored just for you.
